- Under 14 Pier Walk are boreholes that have
been sunk to a depth of 110 metres to provide
heating and cooling for the buildings water whilst
an underground tank stores the rainwater that is
collected, and the green roofs support 35
different species of plants.
- Office space in the building is located in two separate curving wings that are designed to relate to the neighbouring O2 dome. Dividing them are three service cores and two internal atria.
- The pattern of opaque panels that the cladding
employs has been designed to either enhance
or reflect solar gain depending on the conditions although the artistic inspiration is the Paul Klee painting, "Fire at Evening" .
