- Cranfields Mill is the tallest residential building in East Anglia, although remains shorter than numerous churches.
- The original plans were to retain as much of the dockside mill that stood on site as possible with two fifteen storey towers but this proved impossible to do, and so the decision was instead made to construct a single landmark tower.
- Nonetheless, some of the brick waterside buildings preserved with balconies added to help animate the waterfront facades.
- The blocky look of the tower is intended to resemble the grain silos that previously stood in its place having been split into three vertical elements. Insets between groups of windows add a noticeable dash of colour.
- In the marketing phase the project was hugely successful - 50% of the apartments were sold off-plan before construction started.
- The base of the building includes the 2,500 square metre headquarters and dancing facilities for Dance East. This is purposefully clad in dark zinc which contrasts with the lighter cladding elsewhere and singles it out as an individual element of the project.
