The outside of 40 Holborn Viaduct is dominated by natural pink granite stone that clads the 1,500 tonnes of steel that make up the building structure.
The building is constructed with an essentially triangular footprint that responds to the shape of the plot with a central core serving it.
On the south western corner however, the building curves creating space for a small external public area that fronts on to Holborn Circus in a similar way to four of the other five corner positions at the traffic junction.
