Images Other Information
- Unusually for a tower block of the sixties, the structure of 355 Kings Road is actually load bearing Felton brick rather than concrete, but this led to future problems for the scheme.
- Initially the building started to suffer from damp, and so to try to reduce this concrete copings were added to the building parapets. Via their insurers, the architects paid out £10,000 in damages to the local council as a result of this.
- By the 80s the mortar between the bricks was suffering from sulphate attack and the connecting mortar was crumbling. Faced with a substantial bill to renovate the building it was sold off by the local council to Fitch & Co. who had the tower reclad with the mustard coloured panels it still boasts today.
