Plantation Place occupies almost an entire block of approximately 1.02 hectares bounded by Fenchurch St, Mincing Lane, Eastcheap and Rood Lane.
Plantation Place is built on on the remains of part of the old Roman colony of Londonium burned down by Boadicea in AD 60. A hoard of gold coins from the 2nd century was found on site.
The complex contains almost three quarters of an acre of roof gardens.
The central focal point of the development is a 43 metre tall south facing main atrium. designed to bring sunlight into the interior of the building.
