Wapping London Dock Exhibition

An exhibition is being held for what is one of the only major high-rise development sites between the City of London and Canary Wharf from Wednesday the 14th of November.

Named London Dock and developed by St George, the project sits on the site of the approved Newsgroup International scheme at Wapping in east London. That scheme designed by Terry Farrell dates back to 2002 and has never been realised, but the fact that tall buildings were permitted on this site, with the largest having a height of 122 metres has set a precedent.

News International are now in the process of vacating the Wapping site which has become infamous for their scandalous corporate behaviour, and the land has been sold to St George who are mooted to be considering residential twins of 38 and 20 floors.

The exhibition is being held from today to Saturday at the Pennington Street Warehouse and should show off some formative views of the scheme so far. The times of the exhibition are 1 to 8 pm on Wednesday, 12 to 6 pm on Thursday and Friday, and 2 to 6 pm on Saturday.

The Pennington Street Warehouse can be found in Poplar near Thomas More Street and has the postcode of E1W 1YB.
