Pershore Abbey

Images

  • Pershore Abbey, Pershore

Other Information

  • These are the remains of what was at one time a fine Abbey, dissolved by Henry the 8th. Unlike many abbey churches of the era however Pershore largely survived until the 17th century when the north transcept collapsed. It was never rebuilt.
  • Buttressing was added in 1913 to the blank wall where the rest of the abbey would have stood, partly to add detail to it and partly to reinforce the structure in lieu of the missing part of the building.
